This morning, my son reminded me of a couple of things.
1. A two year old wakes up and just knows that he's safe, warm, and wants out of his crib.
2. He remembers that "mama" is the one who can come in and get him out of said crib.
3. Frozen Whole Grain waffles are some of the best things in the world.
4. George on the TV equals one happy boy.
5. In the grand scheme of things: we are VERY blessed.
I had a really hard time falling asleep last night thinking of the poor people in the Obama camp who participated in some of the "transition of power" things last night at midnight. I think of all the nasty things out there that, for better or worse, our leaders have to deal with on a daily basis. And how out there were some people who were learning the EXTENT of how our government helps everday to keep us, safe, warm, and in our beds. And isn't that really the most important thing? We have freedom, that was far from free. And we have the right to a democracy, whether we like what the majority thinks or not.
So I will get off this soap box now... I'm gonna support and respect our new president because that is what I wanted all Americans to do for MY president (even though most of them didn't) over the last eight years. I hope that President Obama can do what he says he's going to do. I am cautiously optimistic there. And I'm going to keep doing my part on the local and national level in stating what I believe. Now more than ever, I know that I have the responsibility of being a conservative voice in the sea of liberalism that is Louisville.
So now I'm off to keep the main thing, the main thing!
