What's Happening

Okay, finally remembered an SD card and finally had two seconds to breathe around here. So let's see what's been happening...

Super proud of our wildcats who were selected in the NBA draft. Emmy is going to be a basketball fan (As is evidenced by her FAVORITE ball) and Davis wanted to wear one of Mommy's shirts to sleep in to honor the CATS.

This past weekend, Emmy did a lot of pulling up and practically walking.  Just a matter of time.  Ugh.  She's quite the little mobile machine these days...

We went to the Zoo to try and cool off in the water park.  No such luck, it was just TOO HOT! So we got to at least check out the new Sea Lion and Seal exhibit.  Davis LOVED it!

Last weekend, we had a cookout with some of MB's high school friends (Lisa Spencer-Roberts and Lisa Hoffman-Clark)  Their kids are too cute and my kids had a good time hanging out with them.  Of course, the kiddos just had to watch some Tom and Jerry while they enjoyed a snack  Then there was a whole lot of water play going on...

And that's about it!  We are looking forward to the Fourth of July and are gearing up for the Big Man's birthday this coming month!  Woohoo!

the "Baby Cage" was purchased at a garage sale on Saturday.

Of course, Davis was the first to want to climb on in.

Also of note, Emmy is pulling up like a champ. So it kind of looks like we might be going from Champion Army Crawler to Cruising in no time flat.

Forgot the SD card... now what?!

I know all of you only really log on to see pictures of the kids. And that's okay. I mean, I do have the cutest children EVER so I would expect nothing less.

But today, I forgot to grab the SD card from the "little" camera to share some pictures of the week. Oops. I'm scatterbrained sometimes and was thrown off by an early riser today as I left for work.

Yesteday, Davis was not himself. Crazy rash all over, fever in the 102 area, and him saying that "his brain was hurting" (ie, a headache) so I took him into the doctor. ugh. Strep test was negative so just a viral infection. Almost wish it was Strep so that we could give him something to feel better!!!! Anyhow, we made a quick trip by Target to get a new movie (He really wanted Madagascar) then back home to rest. He seemed pretty perky this morning, so we shall see what happens.

Emmy has turned into the crawling machine. Shocker, right? ;-) She just has to be in on the action. She just has to open cabinets. When she's sitting up, she wants to be crawling. When she's crawling, she wants to be sitting up. Honestly, what can you do to make a 9 month old happy? I forsee baby gates going up this weekend and cabinet locks being fixed. The joys of baby-hood.

Davis now realizes that with Emmy on the move, his stuff is fair game. Two days ago, he said, "Mommy, have you seen those Baby Cages? We should get one of those."

Preach it little man. You have NO idea what you are in for!!!!!

random ramblings

Okay, I don't really have a topic or anything. Mostly, just looking for something to do while I'm waiting for a patient to show up here at work. So I'll just get out some of the stuff in my head:

1. The Schindler Clan is growing by one in 2011... our sister-in-law Kimberly is expecting a Young 'Un on 1.7.11. Fun, fun!
2. My thirty-one business is rolling right along. Extra income = a good thing!
3. My part-time help at work starts next week. What is that? Are those angels singing? Welcome back to an extra day off during the week. :-) Maybe I won't feel quite like I'm missing out on the little people so much!
4. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get the wireless router for the house today. Love this netbook but need to be able to use it at home!!!!!!!!!! (Is that okay, Chris?)
5. Loved, loved, loved our sermon at church this past weekend. How blessed are Chris and I that we have such a good marriage?!?!?
6. Extreme Couponing continues to roll in this house... so amazing how much FREE STUFF is out there!! I just love getting my receipt at the end of a transaction and seeing what all I got for free or discount. Although the Coupon database is starting to get a little hairy and I Think I will have to convert to an Access Database soon.
7. How great has Project Life gone this year? LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this picture a day format for the scrapbooks... makes me feel like I'm keeping up with it all even though I am SOOOOO not keeping up with it all!

Going on a 'fari.

Davis' vocabulary never ceases to amaze me. He's such a funny little guy. Usually, it's completely shocking what he will come up with.

Case in point: A couple of nights ago, I had the camera out and was taking some pictures. He asked if he could use it (a common occurance, one of which I totally love and encourage). I said, "Why, buddy?"

D's response: "I want to take pictures on a 'fari"
"What's a 'fari?"
"You know, when you walk around and take pictures of animals in their 'abitats"

I mean, really? What in the world? Darn Curious George teaching my kid things again. ;-)

So, he took my camera and proceeded to take pictures of Emmy's animals in their natural habitats. This was SERIOUSLY ALL HIM. I had no hand in egging this on...

And then last night while D was finishing up his bath, we had this conversation:

Davis: "I can't wait for the e-iesta"
Me: "What's an E-iesta?"
Davis: "You know, a party. An E-iesta. Where you have a 'inata that you hit and get candy to fall out."
Me: "An 'Inata? Like a Pinata for a Fiesta?"
Davis: "Yeah, mom. Didn't you hear what I said?"

Man, do I love talking with that Kid.

9 months old

Yesterday, Emmy turned nine months old.



Yesterday, Emmy started to crawl.

Watch out world... here she comes! :-)

Brotherly Love.

Can I just tell you how much Emerson ADORES her big brother? I mean, it's crazy unconditional, want to see him and what he's doing ALL THE TIME love. I know, I know, it won't last forever. But it's awfully sweet right now.

Last night at dinner, she would just look at him and burst out laughing. That big old belly laugh kind of laugh. So stinkin' sweet.

Then Davis decided he wanted to "tickle" her to make her laugh more. I mean really, too cute.
