She's here!

As predicted, she's so much like her mom that she kept us on schedule and came on her due date. I took Davis to school on Wednesday morning and was having some wicked contractions while I dropped him off. I then headed to the doctors appointment where we decided, yup, she's on her way, and it would be best to help her along with a little pitocin. So, Chris and I headed to the hospital and really got the ball rolling by 12:00 noon. Contractions were getting stronger and longer and the doctor broke my water around 6pm. Things really started rolling then (Of course, we then found out the anesthesiologist had not quite hooked up some of the medicine correctly. All I can say to that is, people who do it naturally are completely INSANE.) After an hour of sheer torture, I got comfortable again and we hunkered down to wait a bit. Got checked again at about 10pm and started pushing about 10:15. 7 pushes later, Emerson arrived in fine form. None of that cord nonsense like we had with Davis. Her APGARs were 9's (how fitting on 9.9.09 in room 9). She cried right off the bat and is more or less perfect!!! :-) 7lbs. 8oz. 19 inches. Beautiful.



So now we are home and figuring out what to do with a girl. She's really doing great... I dare not type this lest it stop, but, she's sleeping great and eating great and really only waking up once during the night. Please Lord, let that continue!! Ha! We're all adapting and are super PROUD of Davis who just adores his baby sister. Oh, and he officially potty trained himself last week *go figure* and made it all week without an accident. (Again, almost afraid to type that in the fear he will regress) But he continues to be his happy go lucky self. We are TRULY blessed.
